Nesim Bencoya worked in the programming, education and marketing departments of Haifa Cinematheque for 15 years and later became the director of Cinematheque. He now lives in Turkey and was the director of the International İzmir Short Film Festival, the program director of the International Malatya Film Festival and the international program director of the International Antalya Film Festival. Residing in Izmir since 2010, Nesim Bencoya  is the project manager of Izmir Jewish Heritage Project. Nesim's role involves overall responsibility for the development of the project in Izmir. Nesim is also the project coordinator of EU funded Izmir Jewish Heritage Project.
