Elias V. Messinas is a practicing architect, graduate of the Yale School of Architecture, Bezalel Academy, with a doctorate from the National Technical University of Athens, and a post-doc from the Technion. He initiated the survey and study of the synagogue of Greece in 1993, preserving in detail architectural records of synagogues since demolished. Since 2016 he has been the chief architect and coordinator of restoration projects of synagogues throughout Greece.
