In 2024, we need to lean in. Lean in to our Jewish values. Lean in to our Sephardic traditions. Lean into seeing the “good.” While our organization achieved significant modernization, with its first ever National Strategic Plan and a highly successful 2023 Gala, the later half of the year has been weighing heavily on our community. As our Israeli brothers and sisters continue to be strong in the face of terror, in the diaspora, we must continue to overcome the sharp rise of antisemitism. How? Let us celebrate our beautiful culture and traditions. It will help us to grieve, to heal, and to thrive. El Ermandad is doing just that, with a lineup of new programming and exciting opportunities in 2024. Most notably, the organization is supporting the launch of the first-ever Ladino High School Club of America and a new National Sephardic Essay Competition.

Our students are learning Ladino weekly, planning shabbatonim and celebrating their Sephardic heritage. It is times like this that we need our community most - and I encourage each one of you to get involved however you can. The magazine will also undergo transformation in 2024 - we’re going digital! Select articles will be available online to read and share. The unique and rich original content authored by our members and contributors deserves to be heard far and wide. The magazine will remain rooted in its focus as the only print publication in North America with Ladino content and will feature expressions of Sephardic identity, art, history and culture for a growing and diverse audience. Wishing you all sanos i rezios for a successful 2024.
