Keridos Ermanos i Ermanas,
As we approach Passover, a time when we reflect on our freedom and the journey of our ancestors, I am reminded of the power of renewal and resilience that runs through our Sephardic traditions. The story of our Exodus from Egypt is not just about leaving slavery behind—it’s about embracing the opportunity for growth and transformation, and that’s exactly what we, as a community, have been doing together.
Over the past six months, the Sephardic Jewish Brotherhood of America has made great strides in supporting our community. From expanding our educational initiatives, such as the Bivas— Ladino High School Club of America and increased activity in our Sephardic Young Professionals Network, we’ve worked to ensure that Sephardic culture, values, and traditions continue to thrive across generations. We’ve expanded our digital reach with an exciting new rebrand of our Sephardic Community Magazine, La Djente—the People, as well as the magazine’s new website ladjente.com, providing a platform to share the stories, voices, and experiences that define Sephardic life in America. This year, we’re looking to build on our hard work to expand our national offerings, having successfully hosted in-person events in Portland, OR, Washington DC, and Philadelphia, PA and ensuring that we are serving our members across the country.
But our work is far from finished. Looking ahead, we are excited to announce more innovative programs designed to unite and uplift every member of our community. Whether it’s through cultural events, educational resources, or opportunities for leadership development, we remain committed to ensuring a vibrant future for Sepharadim everywhere.
As we gather around our Seder tables this year, let us reflect on the blessings of freedom, community, and tradition. I encourage each of you to get involved in our initiatives, share your ideas, and help us continue to build a thriving Sephardic community. Together, we can turn our shared vision for the future into a reality.
On behalf of our national leadership, I wish you and your loved ones a joyous, meaningful Passover. May this holiday inspire us all to embrace freedom and renewal, and may we be blessed with a year of growth, peace, and prosperity.
Moadim LeSimha,
Sedat BeharPresident
