Congratulations to one of our affiliate synagogues in the Pacific Northwest, Congregation Ezra Bessaroth, the Rhodesli Sephardic synagogue of Seattle, on the appointment of their new Sephardic Haham!
We wish a big Mazal Tov - Felisitasiones to Rabbi David Benchlouch on his appointment as the new Rabbi of Congregation Ezra Bessaroth! Rabbi Benchlouch attended the Jerusalem Midrash Sephardi Rabbinical College and the Strauss-Amiel, Beren-Amiel, Ner Le’elef and Ma’arava rabbinical training program for rabbis of the diaspora. Inspired by his close relationship to his mentor Rabbi Yakov Peretz of Jerusalem, Rabbi David is a visionary and affluent in the pursuit of broadening Jewish awareness, affiliation, and identity amidst his sphere of influence. He previously served as Rabbi of the Sephardic Hebrew Congregation of Cape Town, an historic Rhodesli Sephardic community. In addition to his rabbinical training, Rabbi Benchlouch is a practicing psychotherapist with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling from Bellevue University.
The Brotherhood played a proud part in the rabbinic search process for Congregation Ezra Bessaroth, and could not think of a better candidate for this communal position. We wish the Benchlouch families a lot of good luck - Mazal Bueno, in the warm Seattle Sephardic communities and are excited for new things moving forward!
