Summer 2022 - Atlanta

A lot has been happening in our Sephardic community in Atlanta! Our Congregation Or VeShalom is finally getting back into the swing of things with regular in-person Shabbat and weekday services, community programs, and religious school. Our community regulars are especially excited for a return to our famous Boreka Tuesdays, where members of the Kahal bake together delicious borekas and biscochos year round not only to help raise funds for the Kahal, but come together as a real community. This has been a staple program in our synagogue, and has brought together second, third, and even fourth and fifth generation Sepharadim in Atlanta.

In June, we launched our new Fund the Future Campaign with a special kickoff dinner. Our hope is to ensure the vibrancy and longevity of Sephardic Jewish life in the greater metro-Atlanta area, and continue the wonderful growth our Congregation has been seeing over the last few years. What’s more, we’ve been working on growing our young families engagement and recently hired a new staff Director of Programming, and the Congregation is proudly sponsoring a Ukrainian Refugee family, who just arrived in Atlanta last month. More exciting news coming up soon, and y’all better be sure to join us one Shabbat to receive some Sephardic southern hospitality!
