Interior of Etz Chaim Sephardic Congregation in Indianapolis

As we are finally emerging out of the COVID-19 pandemic, Etz Chaim Sephardic Congregation is reemerging with new exciting programming in addition to our Daily morning services as well as Shabbat. In February, we’re holding the world premiere film screening of “Who We Are: Etz Chaim Sephardic Congregation,” a new documentary telling the 110 year history of our Sephardic synagogue, including its roots from Salonika and Monastir.

Additionally, we’ve reinvigorated our search for a new Rabbi for our Sephardic community. Our own Deborah Sisterhood has stepped up with new Oneg Shabbat, as well as delicious Sephardic baking for their Annual Bake Sale. We were one of the few local synagogues that didn’t have Zoom Services in Indianapolis, and maintained our presence with Services from our membership. Our website (www.etzchaimindy.org) got a major upgrade, and we continue to add content for everyone to enjoy. Our affiliation with the Sephardic Brotherhood is one which we continue to support and our membership values. We hope to organize a Midwest Sephardic Shabbaton soon with the Brotherhood, and look forward to seeing everyone from our sister communities throughout the country.
